Tasting Notes
Red ruby in color, the wine opens up in the glass with bursting aromas of strawberry and bright red fruit, followed by nuances of fresh cream and a hint of rose petals. Flavors of juicy strawberry, crushed cherry and delicate white pepper notes are further supported by soft tannins and balanced acidity on a lingering finish.

Vineyards planted in the Santa Lucia Highlands experience a long and dry growing season that results in wines with remarkable depth, complexity and ripe fruit flavors. Hahn’s SLH vineyards – Lone Oak, Doctor’s, Smith and Hook – are planted on a narrow bench at elevations ranging from 200 to 1,200 feet above sea level. Here, plentiful sun and well-drained soils aid concentration and flavor development.
After the fruit was harvested in cool morning and brought to the winery, it was fermented on the skins in stainless steel tanks for 2 weeks with manual pump overs twice a day. The wine was then pressed off and racked into a selection of small 60-gallon French oak barrels to age for 14 months.
