The 2018 SLH GSM opens in the glass with aromas of strawberry mousse, blackberry, vanilla and a hint of white pepper. On the palate, flavors of blackberries with a touch of leather and layers of spice and smooth oak lead to a long finish.

Vineyards planted in the Santa Lucia Highlands experience a long and dry growing season that results in wines with remarkable depth, complexity and ripe fruit flavors. Hahn’s SLH vineyards – Lone Oak, Doctor’s, Smith and Hook – are planted on a narrow bench at elevations ranging from 200 to 1,200 feet above sea level. Our inspiration for GSM comes from the Rhône Valley of southern France. We cultivate one of the few blocks of Syrah in the Santa Lucia Highlands, and we farm the only productive block of Grenache. Our estate grown GSM combines the richness and depth of the Santa Lucia Highlands while honoring the heritage of Rhône blends.
