"Fragrant aromas of plum and black cherry find balance with undertones of vanilla, cola, cloves, and cocoa dust. Right on the heels of the aromatic intensity are interwoven layers of blackberry, boysenberry, black currant, dark plum, and mocha. This wine is full-bodied with supple tannins and a long, generous finish."
One of the first wineries to make Cabernet Sauvignon on California’s Central Coast, we seek out fruit grown in warmer vineyards to create a wine that is decadently rich and ripe.
Our experienced winemaking team chooses Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards planted in the warmer regions of the Central Coast. The extra heat eliminates green flavors and brings out decadent and complex dark fruit elements. After harvest, we barrel-ferment Smith & Hook in French oak, beautifully melding each vineyard’s distinctive flavors into a robust and richly layered blend. We aged this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon in French oak (40% new).
