“Aromas of lime zest, green apple and quinine are complicated by a subtle gingery nuance. Silky and lithe on the palate, with tangy acidity sharpening the flavors of fresh orchard and citrus fruits. Shows very good energy and lift on the finish, with the lime note echoing.” - Josh Raynolds
Winemaker Notes
To make our 2013 SLH Chardonnay, our winemakers selected fruit that yielded the most expressive aromas and flavors. After the fruit was carefully sorted, the grapes were whole-cluster pressed and fermented entirely in small, French oak barrels. We then hand-stirred the wine on the lees every week for the 12 months this wine rested in barrel. When the wine was ready to be bottled, we chose the barrels we felt best exemplified the aromas, flavors and structure of the Santa Lucia Highlands.
