2012 Lucienne Lone Oak Vineyard Pinot Noir
92 points Pinot Report - "Medium ruby color; tight aromas with spice and earth notes; rich, deep earthy cherry with oak and bacon notes; some tannin; good structure and balance; long finish. Rich, herbal Pinot with nice texture."
91 points Wine Enthusiast - "This is a joy to drink. It’s dry and silky, with savory raspberry, cherry and cola flavors that are accented by earthy notes of sautéed wild mushrooms, balsamic and soy sauce. It should improve even more with a few years in the bottle."
90 points PinotFile - "Comforting aromas of cherry, strawberry, red currant, wilted rose petal and sandalwood. A bit lighter in weight, featuring redder fruits including strawberry, cranberry and cherry. Smooth in the mouth and on the finish, with plenty of oak at play in the background "
Our Lucienne Lone Oak Vineyard Pinot Noir is one of four vineyard-designated, limited-production Pinot Noirs from our estate in the Santa Lucia Highlands of Monterey County. In part, our Lucienne wines owe their seductive nature to clonal selection. We have planted an array of Pinot Noir clones, or slight genetic variations, planted in each of our vineyards. Each clone contributes a desired color, aroma, flavor, texture or structural element to the finished wine.
