Tasting Notes
This wine shows a brilliant violet color in the glass, transitioning to ruby-purple at the edges. Prevailing initial fragrances of cassis and crushed blueberries are quickly followed by a silky impression of vanilla and cedar. This wine is richly textured and integrated on the palate, showing exotic undercurrents of baked blackberries and licorice. A touch of acidity balances a plush mouthfeel segueing into fine grained tannins on the finish.

Crafted in the traditional Bordeaux style, this blend represents a layered synthesis of noble grape from different regions within the Central Coast.

The Merlot and Malbec hail from relatively cool climates in central Monterey County. Both of these varietals contribute to the roundness and richness of the finished blend, whereas the Merlot contributes a plummy softness, the mountain grown Malbec asserts a black fruit and spice character that drives the flavor profile of the wine. Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, never confused as cool climate varietals, were grown in the warmer regions of the Southern central coast. Highly aromatic Cabernet from the small region of Hames Valley provides an additional layer of flavor, while Petit Verdot from Paso Robles contributes tannins and a touch of acidity. The final blend shows a character that is at once opulent, variegated and harmonious.
